Townsquare Media has shut down another station in its Central New York cluster centered around Oneonta NY.
News/Talk “CNY News” 730 WDOS Oneonta has signed off for what the company says is “due to economic conditions in the market.” WDOS was the last operating station for what was once a trimulcast with 1270 WDLA Walton, which was taken silent at the end of 2024, and 970 WCHN Norwich that was taken silent in February 2023 and subsequently surrendered in February 2024.
Townsquare has shut off seven of the eleven stations it operated out of Oneonta and nearby towns over the past two years. In addition to the three AMs, Townsquare took off CHR 97.5 WTBD-FM Delhi and Classic Rock simulcast “The Eagle” 94.7 WIYN Deposit/100.3 WDHI Delhi at the end of 2023 before selling them to Family Life Radio in May 2024 and took Country “Big Cat 92.1” WDLA-FM Walton silent with its AM at the end of December.
Townsquare continues to operate Hot AC “Star 93.9” WKXZ Norwich, Country “Big Cat 95.3” WBKT Norwich, Classic Hits 103.1 WZOZ Oneonta, and AC “Mix 103.9” WSRK Oneonta.

Very limited nighttime signal. Surprising that any owner can keep a 1Kw station on the air any longer.
