iHeartMedia Madison/Milwaukee Area President Jeff Tyler will retire today following a 47 year career in radio.
Tyler began his career on-air with stints in Petoskey MI and then Appleton, Madison and Milwaukee before moving up to programming in Madison before becoming Station Manager for Double L Broadcasting in 1994. When Capstar merged Double L and another cluster in 1997 he rose to General Manager and continued through mergers with AM/FM and Clear Channel. He would be promoted to Region President adding oversight of Milwaukee in 2010 before relocating to Minneapolis in 2015. Tyler then rose to Division President in 2018 before returning to Madison in 2022 and then re-adding Milwaukee later that year.
Tyler said, “Broadcast radio has been my life. I’ve worked in every aspect of this business and have been fortunate to work for tremendous leaders who helped shape my career, including the creative and innovative team at iHeartMedia. I’m grateful to have worked with so many talented, dedicated professionals in vibrant broadcast markets, serving advertisers and creating meaningful partnerships. I’m excited to begin a more flexible chapter of life with my family, while continuing to support our sports partnerships in the short term.”
iHeartMedia Division President Nick Gnau added, “It has been an honor to work with Jeff at many levels throughout our careers. His deep knowledge of both sales and programming is truly exceptional. I’ll miss his leadership and our daily collaboration, but I’m thrilled for him to enjoy more relaxation and family time after such an extraordinary career.”
