
Nance, who originally joined KQAC as Program Director and afternoon host in 2015, has led the organization since 2018. She previously has held roles at WHYY-FM Philadelphia, Aspen Public Radio, was Director of Cultural Content and morning host at Maine Public Broadcasting, and afternoon host at WFMT Chicago. He husband, conductor and composer Desmond Earley has spent the past decade commuting from Europe to Oregon. Now she will exit to assume a leadership role with one of Europe’s premier arts organizations.
She commented, “I am deeply grateful for this extraordinary chapter of my life. It has been an honor to lead this remarkable organization and to work alongside a phenomenal Board of Directors and our ever-inspiring Board Chair Elaine Durst. We truly have an exceptional team, and a vibrant, supportive community of listeners. While I am excited for this new chapter in Ireland, I will always carry Portland and All Classical in my heart.”
All Classical Radio Board Chair Elaine Durst stated, “Suzanne has transformed All Classical Radio into a world-class cultural institution. Her vision, creativity, and dedication to excellence have inspired all of us, and her impact will be felt for generations.”
The organization notes that during her tenure, Nance “led the organization through a decade of unprecedented growth and innovation. Under her stewardship, the station has seen record-breaking listenership, launched the acclaimed International Children’s Arts Network (ICAN), and built a state-of-the-art headquarters in downtown Portland.”
The Board of Directors will launch a national search for Nance’s successor in the coming weeks.
