Radio Training Network is expanding its “The Joy FM” Christian AC network in Central Florida with the purchase of Variety Hits “Max 98.3” WWRZ Fort Meade/Lakeland from Hall Communications for $4.25 million.
Radio Training Network operates its network in the adjacent Tampa market on 91.5 WCIE New Port Richey and Orlando on 98.1 WNUE-FM Deltona. The purchase of WWRZ extends the network’s coverage into the southwestern portion of the Orlando market as well.
WWRZ has operated jockless since the exits of PD/morning host Eric Michaels and co-host Mike Lee in January. Hall retains Country 97.5 WPCV, Conservative Talk 1430 WLKF/96.7 W244BJ, and “Fox Sports Lakeland” 1230 WONN/107.1 W296CS in Lakeland.
