Radio One Buffalo Oldies “Big WECK” 1230 WECK Cheektowaga/Buffalo NY and its network of translators has announced the return of John ‘JP’ Piccillo to the station to host “Breakfast with the Beatles” on Saturdays from 9-11am.
Piccillo had exited middays at WECK last year to care for his mother. He joined WECK in April 2023 after ending a 28 year run in middays at Cumulus Media Classic Rock “97 Rock” WGRF in order to work from home to care for his parents.
He said, “Mom has been doing terrific, and life as a caretaker has become a bit more feasible for me, so the first thing I wanted to do is to get back on the radio with what I hear is the 2nd longest running Beatles show in America. I’ll still be continuing to care for mom but carving out some time to put together and host The Fab Four.”
Owner Buddy Shula commented, “I could not be happier for fans of the Beatles or J.P. I admire him in many ways, and we are glad to have the show back where it belongs. J.P. gave me my very first job on the radio back in 1983. He’s always been a mentor to me.”
