After months of a placeholder Beautiful Music format (which continues on 90.3 WBHM-HD3 Birmingham), Signal Mountain Broadcasting has launched Classic Hits “Star 92” on SummitMedia’s 1320 WENN Birmingham/92.3 W222BK Chelsea AL.

The new brand is targeting suburban Shelby County and towns such as Alabaster, Chelsea, and Pelham where the translator covers and running jockless for now. Director of Audio Chris Roth tells us, “Right now we’re music intensive – playing superstars of the 80’s 90’s and more. I believe this is where the classic hits format is going – as we open the playlist into the 90’s and 2K.”
