Ross Kaminsky Moves To Mornings At KOA; Michael Brown To Host 9am-12pm

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
October 31, 2025

Ross Kaminsky 850 94.1 KOA DenveriHeartMedia News/Talk 850/94.1 KOA Denver is eliminating its morning News block as 9am-12pm host Ross Kaminsky moves to mornings starting Monday, November 10.

Kaminsky has led the late morning timeslot on KOA since September 2021 after moving over from morning drive at sister 630 KHOW Denver where he led the daypart from 2016-21. Kaminsky has also previously hosted shows at KFKA Greeley and KNUS Denver following a career as a financial trader.

He will be joined by incumbent morning news co-anchor Jeana Gondek from 6-9am with Gondek continuing to anchor “Colorado’s Morning News” in the 5am hour. The new show follows Marty Lenz’s exit as morning co-anchor in iHeartMedia’s layoffs earlier this month.

Kaminsky said, “I’m thrilled to join Jeana and start the day with Denver delivering top news, lively conversation and plenty of laughter. KOA listeners expect credible information and smart talk, and we’re excited to deliver that every morning.”

With Kaminsky moving to mornings, his successor at KHOW will now move over to the 9am-12pm timeslot on KOA. Michael Brown has hosted at iHeartMedia Denver since 2006, first as a weekend host at KOA before moving to an afternoon show split between KHOW and KOA prior to moving to mornings at KHOW in 2021. He also took over as host of Premiere Networks’ “The Weekend” in August 2022. Brown previously served as Deputy Director and General Counsel of FEMA from 2001 to 2005 and Under Secretary of Homeland Security from 2003 to 2005 under President George W. Bush.

Brown commented, “KOA has long been a trusted voice for Colorado news and talk, and I’m excited to continue that tradition diving deeper into the issues that impact our listeners — with a mix of insight, experience, and a little humor.”

iHeartMedia Denver SVP/Programming JoJo Turnbeaugh added, “KOA’s new lineup brings together some of the most trusted and engaging voices in Colorado radio. Ross and Jeana make an incredible morning team, and Michael’s move strengthens KOA’s position as the go-to destination for news, talk, and sports.
