Cumulus Media Alternative “Q101” WKQX Chicago midday host Lauren O’Neil has inked a contract extension with the station.
O’Neil has been with WKQX since July 2012 (when it on 87.7) and has anchored middays outside of a brief run in afternoons in 2021-22. She began her career at the University of Florida’s then “Rock 104” WRUF-FM Gainesville FL and then spent seven years at iHeartMedia Rock “98 Rock” WXTB Tampa spending time co-hosting mornings and afternoons, while also tracking for stations including WJRR Orlando, KYRK New Orleans, KHBZ Oklahoma City, and WRFF Philadelphia.
