After 26 years at Local Daily Media Country 99.9 WFRE Frederick MD, Tom Whalen will retire on Wednesday, December 31.
Whalen has been with WFRE since 1999. After previously hosting afternoons, Whalen has anchored mornings since 2008 first with Dina Carole and since 2015 with Dianah Gibson. He will also anchor his final “Sunday Rewind” show on Sunday, January 4. Prior to WFRE, Whalen served as morning host at 1520 WTRI Brunswick MD and spent fifteen years in New York as an actor and truck driver.
