The crowded Adult Contemporary marketplace in Salt Lake City has gotten even more congested as Capital Broadcasting has launched Soft AC “Coast 103.1” KLO-FM Coalville.
KLO-FM had been the first station in 2025 to go all-Christmas when it dropped its Classic Alternative “103.1 The Wave” identity on October 7. The new format creates a flanker for sister Hot AC “Now 97.9” KBZN, but targeting itself against Bonneville’s “FM 100” KSFI, Cumulus Media’s “B98.7” KBEE, and iHeartMedia’s duo of Classic Hits 94.1 KODJ and Hot AC/Christmas music “My 99.5” KJMY.
While KBZN led the Salt Lake City market with with a 7.5 share in the November ratings, KSFI was third with a 6.4 share, KODJ was sixth at a 5.5, KBEE seventh with a 4.7 and KJMY adding a 2.7 share. KLO-FM rose from a 0.9 to 1.5 share with its Christmas music stunting.
