Following Tuesday’s launch of “Caracol América 106.3” WRAZ-FM Leisure City/W292GE Miami/WCMQ-HD2 Hialeah FL, Spanish Broadcasting System and Prisa Media have unveiled further details of their new partnership.
The two companies will be partnering to grown the “Caracol América” brand nationally with additional major market FM launches and national digital distribution with “a slate of new audio stations and live and on-demand streaming content and networks, including an award-winning roster of syndicated talent, targeting the growing $4 Trillion U.S. Hispanic market.”

Original Report 1/13: Prisa Media has returned its Colombian based “Caracol Radio” to the United States as it partners with Spanish Broadcasting System to launch “Caracol América 106.3” WRAZ-FM Leisure City/W292GE Miami/WCMQ-HD2 Hialeah.
The new brand is described as a “a new source of news in Spanish, combining programming originating in Colombia and the United States, connecting with a growing Hispanic audience that over-indexes in digital and multi-platform consumption.” The move is part of an international restructuring of the “Caracol” brand that in Colombia will see it merge with co-owned “W Radio“.
The move also marks a return of the Caracol brand to Miami as it was utilized on 1260 WSUA from 2003 until 2021 with Grupo PRISA owning a 25% stake and operating the station during that time. The station shifted in a Conservative direction and rebranded as “America Radio” in 2021.
WRAZ-FM/W292GE/WCMQ-HD2 had most recently been operated by SBS as “Salsa 106.3“.
