Longtime Audacy Sports “670 The Score” WSCR Chicago host Terry Boers passed away today at the age of 75.
Boers spent 25 years at WSCR from the station’s launch in January 1992 until retiring right after his anniversary in 2017. After originally being paired with Dan McNeil, Boers would spend his final 18 years at the station teamed with Dan Bernstein, first in middays before moving to afternoon drive. Prior to segueing to radio, Boers spent two decades in print with time as a sports columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and working at the Lansing Sun Journal and Detroit Free Press.
WSCR Operations Director Mitch Rosen commented, “The Score lost one of our own today. Terry Boers passed away today surrounded by loved ones. Terry was one of the founding fathers of The Score and one of the most popular people on the air and in The Score hallways. Terry was original, funny, smart, witty and most importantly a beautiful person. Terry’s family’s wish is there won’t be a funeral, but The Score will celebrate his life on the air next week. So today and forever, RIP Terry Boers.”
