The rumors will become reality in Buffalo NY as Audacy will flip Country “107.7/104.7 The Wolf” WLKK Wethersfield Township/W284AP Buffalo NY to a simulcast of Sports 550 WGR Buffalo.
While the station has not yet publicly announced the change, the company has applied to change the call letters of WLKK to WGR-FM effective Thursday, February 19 along with the registration of multiple internet domains. The addition of the FM simulcast comes as the NFL’s Buffalo Bills have announced their departure from WGR for the 2026 season and the co-owned NHL Buffalo Sabres will do the same at the end of its current season.
The move will mark a return to Sports for the 107.7 facility as it was WNSA from 2000 to 2004 competing against WGR. Audacy has been accelerating its move of AM Sports stations to FM in recent months. With WGR’s move, 610 KILT Houston and 1320 KIFM Sacramento will be the only two of the company’s Sports stations with local programming to not have an FM signal.
The Wolf format debuted in June 2021 and features a local morning show hosted by Liz Mantel followed by Audacy’s national Country personalities the remainder of the day.
WGR was second in the Buffalo market with an 8.2 share in the December 2025 Nielsen Audio ratings. WLKK had a 1.4 share trailing Townsquare Media’s 106.5 WYRK’s third ranked 7.6 share.
