Longtime “Kiss 98.5” WKSE Buffalo morning host Janet Snyder will retire from the station in May concluded a 32 year run in the timeslot.
Snyder began her career in Ithaca NY while attending college and originally joined WKSE in 1987 as Promotions Director and midday host. She would then move to New York to host middays at “Z100” WHTZ as ‘Janet Dean’ from 1988 from 1992. Snyder then returned to WKSE first in middays before rising to morning host in 1994 where she has been teamed with Nicholas Picholas for much of her tenure.
In a memo to staffers on Wednesday shared by the Buffalo News, Audacy Buffalo SVP/Market Manager Tim Wenger said, “It’s with VERY mixed emotions that we announce Janet Snyder will be hanging up her headphones on Kiss 98.5 in late May to enjoy some much-deserved time off. Time off to sleep in. Time off to travel. Time off to enjoy all that her success affords her. 32 years at one station gives her that ability.”
