Redrock Media has made a pair of changes at its St. George UT cluster.
Classic Rock “Zion 104.1” KZYN Toquerville has flipped to Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM“. The move takes KZYN out of direct format competition with Frandsen Media’s “95.9 The Hawk” KZHK, while becoming a flanker to sister Classic Hits “98.9 Kool-FM” KRQX.
Owner Craig Hanson said, “Jack-FM is a perfect fit for St. George. The music, personality and ability to localize allow us flexibility to serve our community and our advertisers. It’s going to be fun!”
The “Zion” name hasn’t gone away as Classic Country “102.3 Real Country” KUTQ La Verkin has rebranded as “102.3 Zion Country“. KUTQ will continue to carry Premiere Networks’ Bobby Bones Show in mornings. The move came exactly one year to the day after the station shifted to a gold-based presentation after previously being one of three current Country stations in the market as “Coyote 102.3” up against Canyon Media’s 99.9 KONY and Townsquare Media’s “Cat Country 107.3/94.9” KIYK/KCIN.
