Along with the flip of 105.5 WXQR Jacksonville NC back to Rock, Dick Broadcasting has exited Spanish language programming as its other Spanish Rhythmic “Candela” branded station has signed off.
“Candela 96.1” 1130 WHHW/96.1 W241CV Hilton Head Island SC ceased operations on April 1 telling the FCC, “the owner of the tower site exercised an early termination clause in the lease agreement forcing the Station to unexpectedly cease operations.”
WHHW had flipped to Spanish language programming in October 2021 following WXQR doing so as “La Pantera“. Both stations shared syndicated programming.
The station did not show in the February 2026 Eastlan Ratings for the Savanah/Hilton Head market.
