Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters is currently stunting with a loop of Gene Autry’s “Back In The Saddle” on 105.1 KKGO-HD3 Los Angeles as it prepares to launch Classic Country “Big Country“.
The new brand will feature on Country hits from the 1970s through 90s. It will the second attempt at Classic Country as the company operated “Go Country Gold” on 1260 KMZT/105.1 KKGO-HD4 from October 2024 until April 2025.
Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters owner Saul Levine told RadioInsight, “Several years ago we experimented with a total gold format on a separate wide coverage digital stereo am station And met with some success. In retrospect we realize now it was more successful then we realized and let the nay sayers prevail. Presently with our FM station a big success with hit oriented format a success and management much wiser, we believe we can program a second station featuring classic gems that will compliment our hit oriented flame-thrower FM station that reaches a potential audience of over 11 million people.”
KKGO-HD3, which had been Classical “K-Mozart+“, can be heard at this link. KKGO-FM also features Classical “K-Mozart” simulcasting 1260 KMZT on KKGO-HD2 and Smooth Jazz “The Surf” on KKGO-HD4.
