After closing on their $2.3 million purchase of Classic Hits “Superhits 95.9” WGRQ Fairview Beach and Country “Thunder 104.5” WGRX Falmouth, Centennial Broadcasting has begun refreshing the Fredericksburg market properties with WGRQ rebranding this week as “95.9 The Goat“.

With the exception of mornings, the station’s on-air lineup remains the same as Paula Kidwell remains in middays and Brad Majors in afternoons. Dave Adler, who spent twenty years in mornings, announced his departure from WGRQ at the end of April. He wrote at the time, “I got my first radio job when I was 16. Since then, I have never not been on the radio. Until now. By my choice. On my terms. I’m taking a break. To my Dave’s Morning Show family, thank you for all the memories and more. I will never forget you and the 20+ years of mornings we spent together on the radio in and around Fredericksburg.”
