Beasley Media Group Sports “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM Boston Imaging Director and voiceover talent John Reilly has exited the station after a 35 year run at the station and predecessor Rock 104.1 WBCN after accepting one of Beasley’s ongoing offers of voluntary contract buyouts or as he says “early extra-long summer vacation.“
Reilly commented, “It has been a tremendous honor to be part of the greatest sports talk station in the nation! I want to thank Mary Menna, Rick Radzik, and everyone at Beasley.”
Reilly began his career at 101.7 WLYN turned Alternative WFNX and later held roles as Creative Director at 107.3 WAAF Boston and Imaging Director at “98 Rock” WIYY Baltimore before joining WBCN in 1990. Reilly said, “I listened to BCN growing up so when Oedipus hired me in 1990, it was a real dream come true!”
Reilly also serves as the VO/Imaging voice for stations including WSB Atlanta, WBBM Chicago, KRLD-FM Dallas, KWFN San Diego, and KFBK Sacramento. He also spent two decades as the voice of KNX Los Angeles. With his departure from Beasley, Reilly says will be focusing on his clients stating, “Along with creative consultation John offers VO, full Imaging and copywriting, a ‘One Stop Sonic Shop’ for his clients. In honor of Memorial Day, new clients who sign up by July 1st get their launch package in addition to their first month”.
