Connoisseur Media News/Talk 101.1 KXL Portland has promoted morning co-anchor Heather Roberts to News Director.

Roberts will now oversee the editorial direction of KXL’s news operation, guide coverage and content strategy while maintaining her daily on-air responsibilities. She joined KXL in November 2024 after previously holding roles as a Field Producer for ABC News and in multiple roles in the Bend OR market in news, promotions and sales. She also owns and operates the Oregon Radio News Network.

Roberts takes the News Director role from Grant McHill, who was promoted to Program Director last November. He said, “Heather is a news force. She is relentless in her search for the news and will serve KXL well in this role. I’m excited to see where she takes the KXL News Department.”
