Bob Stroud hosted his final “Ten at 10” on Hubbard Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV Chicago/96.9 WWDV Zion IL ahead of his retirement from radio.
Stroud has been a staple of WDRV since its launch in 2001 as the first on-air voice heard following its flip to Classic Rock. He would anchor middays until going into semi-retirement in June 2022, but continued to host the daily “Ten at 10” and “One 45 at 1:45” as well as his Sunday morning “Rock and Roll Roots” show that had bounced around the market with him since its launch in 1980 from 95.5 WMET to 97.9 WLUP, 105.9 WCKG, 1000 WLUP, 94.7 WXCD, 93.1 WXRT, and since 2001 WDRV.
The final “Ten at 10” will feature “ten great songs from twenty five great years” with songs that mean a great deal to Stroud personally along with highlights from what he calls “a long line of rock and roll dreams coming true.”
