Pirate Actions
Forfeiture Orders were issued to a pair of pirate operators.
Efrain Gonzalez of Waterbury CT was issued a $40,000 penalty for operating “Lapoderosa 89.1” with a simulcast of 630 WUNO San Juan PR. Gonzlez was first issued a notice of apparent liability for forfeiture in January 2025 after being observed operating in March and April 2024.
Jean Boncoeur of Spring Valley NY was issued a $20,000 penalty for operating “Radio Gold Stars” on 90.5. Boncoeur had received a notice of apparent liability for forfeiture in January 2026 and did not file a response to the FCC’s inquiry.
The commission has also issues notices of apparent liability for forfeiture to two other pirate operators in the Bronx NY. A $25,000 penalty was proposed against Albercio Mercado’s “Manzana FM” on 94.9, while a $20,000 penalty was proposed against Neville Morgan, Lilleth Morgan, and The Sweet Hour of Prayer Inc’s “TOG Radio” on 105.3.
License Cancellations
After going silent in July 2015, Freeland Broadcasting Company surrendered the license of the former Country “100.9 The Farm” WEIO Huntingdon TN.
Roser Communications Network surrenders the former Classic Country 1570 WVTL/104.7 W284BZ Amsterdam NY. The signals were taken off the air on January 1 for financial reasons.
Moody Bible Institute turned in the license of 91.1 KMWY Jackson WY.
Elijah Radio has requested cancellation of 88.1 WKRE Argo AL. WKRE went silent in January after it lost its site lease.
Frequency Zero’s CP for 91.5 WXPC Darien GA expired unbuilt.
