My Broadcasting Corporation relaunched its Oldies stations in Ontario as “Wow-FM” today.
Making the change are “Oldies 107.7” CHMY-FM Arnprior, “Oldies 96.7” CJWV-FM Peterborough, “Oldies 100.9” CIYM-FM Brighton, and “Oldies 99.7” CKNC-FM Simcoe. The new branding puts it in-line with sister “92.3 Wow-FM” CJET-FM Smiths Falls/Ottawa as that station updates its logo to math and taking on the new “Just Great Songs” positioning being used across the stations.
My Broadcasting VP/Content Development Rob Mise said that the stations will feature broader playlists regardless of release date.
All of the stations will continue to feature their current local on-air lineups. Not affected by the changes is co-owned “102.7 Wow-FM” WLYK Cape Vincent NY/Kingston ON as that station will continue to feature its 1980s centered Classic Hits programming.
