Audacy Rhythmic Throwbacks “102 Jams” KRBQ San Francisco has appointed Andre ‘Dre Boogs’ Yancey as Brand Manager.
Yancey, a Bay Area native, will continue to be based in New York where he is also Assistant Brand Manager for “94.7 The Block” WXBK. He has been with WXBK since April 2022 after previously serving as Executive Producer for Scott Shannon in the Morning on sister Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM. Yancey previously worked for United Stations Radio Networks as Director of New Media and assisting on the strategy and development of other syndicated shows including Carmen’s Calls and Nick Cannon Radio and was a producer and co-host for Cannon’s morning show on “92.3 Now” WNOW-FM New York. He began his career in San Francisco rising from the street team to part of the morning show at Hip Hop 106.1 KMEL.
He will take over the day-to-day programming from Ben ‘Complex’ Romero, who continues to program Rhythmic CHR 102.5 KSFM and CHR “106.5 The End” KUDL Sacramento and added CHR “Live 101.5” KALV-FM Phoenix last month.
He commented, “Radio has been part of my life since I was a kid growing up in the South Bay – a companion, a soundtrack, a way to feel connected. Complex has been an incredible steward of JAMS, and we’re going to continue building on everything he’s put in place. JAMS is a love letter to The Bay and its contribution to culture, and more than ever, companionship and connection are what radio is about. Thank you to Skip Dillard, Chris Oliviero, Dave Richards, Jeff Sottolano, Jim Ryan, and Kieran Geffert.”
Audacy Urban AC and Throwbacks Format Vice President Skip Dillard said, “As a Bay Area native, Andre understands what the community wants and needs. We look forward to seeing how his creative instincts and acute eye for technology come together to elevate the brand and deepen its connection with listeners.”
