Pillar Media is revamping the lineups at its “Star” Christian AC stations in Cincinnati, Denver, and New Jersey as Creative Director/morning host Skip Mahaffey exits.
The morning show anchored by Mahaffey and Kristen James that debuted in September 2024 has come to an end with James moving to middays on all three stations. Hope Media Group’s syndicated “Brant Hanson Show” will move from middays back into the morning drive slot it held before then.
Mahaffey joined Pillar Media in October 2023 as Director of Programming Operations. He moved to Creative Director and Talent Coach last September. Prior to joining Pillar media, Mahaffey spent seven years in mornings at “K-Love” and spent most of his career in Country radio hosting mornings at KPLX Dallas, WFUS and WQYK Tampa, and WCOL Columbus. He has also worked at stations Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego, St. Louis, Tulsa, and Tucson.
He told HisAir, “An incredible staff whom I could not possibly be more proud to have worked with.”
James has been with Pillar Media for her entire career starting as an intern at WAWZ before rising through the ranks to promotions and weekend host before moving to afternoon co-host in 2018 and morning co-host in April 2020. She moved to middays at WAKW and WAWZ in early 2023 and added the role as Music Director upon Mahaffey’s arrival.
The remainder of the daily lineup remains the same at the three stations with Chad Mitchell in afternoons from 3-7pm and ChristianFM Media’s “Kevin & Amy Show” at night.
Pillar Media’s Christian AC properties are 93.3 WAKW Cincinnati, 99.1 WAWZ Zarepath NJ, and 101.5 KSRC Watkins/Denver CO.
