Former KNX Los Angeles afternoon news anchor Rob Archer is joining Cox Media Group’s 750 WSB Atlanta/95.5 WSBB Doraville as an anchor and reporter.
In his “Archer’s Line” newsletter, Archer said, “I have accepted an anchor/reporter position at 95.5 WSB Atlanta. I’ll be working with my old KNX boss, Ken Charles, beginning next month. Whenever I’ve been laid off from somewhere, I’ve told people, “The future, as they say, is wide open.” It’s a way of saying that the routine has been disrupted and life is about to be different.Well, now I can say that about starting something new. I’m getting another ride on the radio machine — the business that’s been a lifelong love. The future, truly, is wide open. There’s a lot to do, of course. I’ve been an Angeleno for 27 years. We’ve got places to sell, plans to make, and many things to figure out. But I’m truly excited to start this brand-new chapter — a chapter I honestly didn’t think I was going to get.”
Archer spent a decade at KNX from 2015 until 2025 preceded by nine years as midday news anchor and fill-in Talk host at iHeartMedia’s 640 KFI. Prior to shifting to news, Archer held programming roles including AC 101.1 WVRI turned Rock WJRR Orlando, Modern AC “103.5 Planet Radio” WPLL Miami from 1996 to 1999 and for Westwood One including the CHR “Hits Now” from 2006 to 2012. He also was APD and on-air at iHeart’s Hot AC 104.3 KBIG Los Angeles from 1999 to 2006.
