After exiting mornings at Townsquare Media News/Talk 950 WIBX/92.3 W222DA Utica NY last week, Bill Keeler is joining Arjuna Broadcasting Classic Rock “92.7 The Drive” WXUR Herkimer/Utica in the same role.
Keeler previously hosted mornings at WXUR from 2007 to 2010. His WIBX executive producer Davey Smith and news anchor Jeff Monaski will also join him at WXUR as will former “Talk 100.7” WUTQ “Talk of the Town” host Jay Aiello. They will replace “The Bob & Tom Show” on the station. The show will also stream on Facebook and YouTube.
Keeler said, “I’m so excited to head back to The Drive, in the same studios I built 20 years ago. And working with a legend like Genesee Joe is a dream come true. I don’t think there’s a better mix of Classic Rock music anywhere on air or online. I’m also really excited about working again with Mindy Barstein, who is the true definition of the local owner who always puts community first. Local radio works when it’s actually local. It means the people making decisions live here, work here, know the businesses, know the charities, know the important players and, most importantly, know the people listening.”
WXUR owner/GM Mindy Barstein added, ”It is extremely important that radio goes back to its roots of entertaining, informing and serving the local community. Now, with Bill and his crew joining us, The Drive is the only full time live radio station playing music you won’t hear anywhere else. Keeler in the Morning and Genesee Joe in the afternoon. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Keeler had spent thirteen years in mornings at WIBX. He has also held on-air roles at 106.9 WRCK from 1989 to 1992 and again from 1997 to 2002, WKRL Syracuse from 1992 to 1995, and WWKX Providence RI from 1995 to 1997.
