With this week’s announcement of the launch of “The Bongino Report AM”, we now know why Westwood One is debuting the hour long morning show.
As first reported by DCRTV, the debut of “The Bongino Report AM” on September 21 will follow the final edition of “America in the Morning” hosted by John Trout on Friday, September 18. Originally hosted by Jim Bohannon, “America in the Morning” debuted on September 17, 1984 on what was then the Mutual Broadcasting Network. John Trout succeeded Bohannon in January 2016.
Affiliates were informed this week of the end of the show’s distribution.
Trout also currently serves as anchor of “Good Morning Delmarva” and “WMDT News at Noon” on WMDT-TV Salisbury MD. Trout was a long time CHR morning personality and programmer at stations including WSTO Evansville, WHOT-FM Youngstown and WKST-FM Pittsburgh before moving into television news and meteorology where he worked at stations including WLFI-TV Lafayette IN and WBOC-TV Salisbury.
