After serving as interim co-host since April’s exit of Otis Day, Woodward Community Media CHR “95.9 Kiss-FM” WKSZ De Pere/Green Bay and 92.9 WKZY Chilton/Appleton APD/afternoon host Edgar ‘Eddie’ Ybarra will permanently move to mornings alongside Katie Schurk & Nick Vitrano for the newly rechristened “Eddie, Katie, and Nick”.
Ybarra joined WKSZ in May 2022 as MD/midday host and later rose to APD for the cluster. He previously held roles including Program Director for Cumulus Media Country 104.9 WPCK and Classic Rock 106.7 WKRU Green Bay. He has also programmed Country “B93.7” WBFM Sheboygan, APD/MD at 93.7 WXAL Burlington VT, on-air at CHR 97.5 WZOK Rockford IL, tracking mornings at WIQQ Greenville MS and support for VCreative.
He commented, “I’ve had an absolute blast working alongside Katie and Nick every morning since April. The connection we’ve built with each other and with the KISS FM listeners has been incredible. I’m thrilled to officially lock in this role and keep building something special in the mornings, while continuing to help lead 95.9 KISS FM behind the mic. I also want to give a huge thank you to Reed. I’ve loved every minute of doing afternoons with him, and I’m incredibly grateful for the friendship, laughs, and memories we’ve made along the way. I’m excited for what’s ahead, but I’ll always be proud of what we built together.”
Brand Manager Joe Marroe said, “Eddie stepped into the interim role seamlessly this past spring, bringing an instant natural chemistry with Katie and Nick. As Assistant Brand Manager, Eddie already knows the heartbeat of this station and our listeners. Making his morning role permanent was the absolute right move for the brand and our audience at this time.”
