Roger Holler’s MARC Media is continuing its rapid growth in Central Florida with the purchase of Cumulus Media’s Melbourne cluster of Classic Rock “95.9 The Rocket” WROK-FM Sebastian, Country “102.7 The Hitkicker” WHKR Rockledge, and CHR “107.1 A1A” WAOA Melbourne. The stations will join MARC’s existing duo of Classic Hits “98.5 The Beach” WSBH Satellite Beach and Classic Country “I Am Country” 1060 WIXC/105.5 W288DZ Titusville for $2.073 million.
In the past year, MARC Media has acquired Treasure Coast Radio’s five stations in Vero Beach FL and the majority of Hall Communications’ cluster in Lakeland. MARC also has a cluster in Gainesville and stand-alone Christian AMs in Orlando and Dallas TX.
MARC Chief Operating Officer Scott Miller said, “As planned, our signals now pretty much cover a majority of the central Florida peninsula. We’ve remained true to our objective to bring community-focused, meaningful on-air programming to our growing listener and advertising bases. And we’re just getting started. MARC intends to provide each station with the tools needed to grow those audiences even further. We are very selective when it comes to bringing stations into the MARC fold, applying a formula we’ve fine-tuned for growth and profitability.”
MARC has also tapped Zayne Rose as Market Manager to oversee the combination of the two clusters. Rose joins MARC from Tulsa where he spent the past four years as Director of Sales for Stephens Media Group. He has also held roles as National/Regional Sales Manager and Syndication for Iliad Media Group Boise and West Coast Regional Sales Manager for Regional Reps among others.
An LMA of the stations commenced on Tuesday, September 1.
