After five years on iHeartMedia Rock “97.1 The Eagle” KEGL, the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks are moving to Audacy Sports “105.3 The Fan” KRLD-FM.
The Mavericks will join the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and MLB’s Texas Rangers on the station. In addition to all game broadcasts, KRLD-FM will feature four weekly shows focusing on the franchise. “Mavs Insider Access” will be a weekly conversation with different Mavs executives, coaches and players. “Inside the Mavs with Chuck Cooperstein” will feature the team play-by-play voice. “Mavs Basketball Hour” will be a weekly deep-dive into the team and league. “Mavs Beyond the Court” will focus on team business and community impact.
Mavericks Chief Communications Officer Gina Miller said, “105.3 The Fan has built tremendous equity in the market with sports fans across North Texas, and we’re excited to bring the Dallas Mavericks to the Audacy family. This partnership is about giving Mavs fans more ways to connect with the team, from game broadcasts to weekly programming, while significantly expanding our reach across Texas. Plainly put, we want to give our fans more Mavs content, wherever they are.”
Audacy VP News/Talk/Sports and KRLD-FM Brand Manager Gavin Spittle commented, “This partnership is an amazing addition to everything we’ve built for our listeners. At The Fan, we can’t wait to keep expanding our multi-platform experience to deliver the best content to sports fans. Serving as the proud, 100,000-watt home of the Dallas Mavericks is something we are truly excited about.”
