Following the exit of Jeremy Padgett and Katy Mitchell on Tuesday, KSE Media Hot AC “Mix 100” KIMN Denver has announced it will launch “Denver’s Morning Show” with Nina Blanco and Josh Griesemer on Tuesday, September 8.
Blanco joined the station in April 2023 as 2-4pm host. She moved to afternoon drive in September 2024 and added Music Director duties at the station last November. She previously hosted mornings in the market at iHeartMedia CHR “95.7 The Party” KPTT and among multiple other roles at Max Media Hip Hop “Flo 107.1” KFCO as well as CHR “Now 96.3” KNOU St. Louis. She has also hosted nights at CHR 101.5 WCIL-FM Carbondale IL in her career.
Griesemer remains from the previous morning show. He joined the company’s Sports “Altitude 92.5” KKSE-FM in 2018 and has served as KIMN morning show producer/co-host since 2020.
Blanco said, “I grew up listening to voices on the radio that sounded like mine, and some that didn’t. Both shaped me. But I always dreamed of being in that seat, doing it my way, for a city I love with everything I have. Denver is home. MIX 100 is family. If a little girl anywhere in Colorado turns on the radio in the morning, hears me, and thinks, ‘I could do that,’ then this is already everything.”
Griesemer followed, “Nina is the real deal, and Denver is going to love waking up with her. I couldn’t be more excited to be alongside her every morning. The best chapter of this show is just getting started.”
VP/General Manager Joel Clary stated, “Nina Blanco is exactly the kind of talent who defines a radio station’s identity — gifted, relatable, and deeply connected to this city. We are proud to make history together.”
Program Director Big Rob Lewis, who will shift from middays to afternoons to succeed Blanco, said, “Nina was built for mornings. The morning show is the heartbeat of a radio station — and Nina’s heart has always been in this building, in this city, and in service to our listeners.”
KIMN is also seeking applicants to join the station for an undisclosed daypart. The posting looks for someone able of “Delivering a compelling on-air 5-hour music-based show, servicing the promotions and features of the radio station, and scheduling and maintaining daily music logs for KIMN”.
