7954689 Canada Inc. Oldies 600 CFQR Montreal has announced the addition of Terry ‘Motormouth’ Young to the station as afternoon host.

Young will host 4-7pm starting Monday, September 14. Best known for his early 1980s stint at WCAU-FM Philadelphia, Young has also been heard on stations including WEZB New Orleans, WDFX Detroit, WIOQ Philadelphia, WTMP Tampa and XM’s “60s on 6”. He will take the time slot that had been held by Mose Persico since earlier this year. Persico will move to the 12pm hour.

CFQR Program Director Daniel Coulombe said, “We live in turbulent, complicated times, and audiences are constantly bombarded with breaking news and heavy headlines. CFQR is intentionally doing something different. Our mission is to bring back the radio you loved growing up—great music and genuine personalities from morning until night. Montreal has an incredible legacy of radio giants, from Dave Boxer, Marc Denis, and George Morris to the late Ralph Lockwood, who originally hailed from Philadelphia. In a wonderful radio parallel, Terry Young made his name dominating the airwaves as the premier personality in Philadelphia before entertaining listeners across North America on XM Satellite Radio. Terry is an authentic radio artist, and they simply don’t make them like this anymore. Above all, Terry truly believes in what we are building here and passionately wanted to be part of Montreal classic Top 40. Radio is supposed to be fun, uncomplicated, and electric. Terry is all about high-spirited entertainment and connecting with the listener. We couldn’t be more excited to have him in the driver’s seat for Montreal’s commute home.”
