Connoisseur Media has announced it has promoted Greg Hanson to Market Manager of its five station cluster in Shreveport LA, while appointing Paul Cannell to succeed him as Operations Manager.
Known on-air at Classic Rock “98 Rocks” KTAL as ‘The Nukeman’, Hanson originally joined the station in 1985. After spending a year in Vail CO at KQMT-FM, he returned in 1991 as Music Director and rose to PD/afternoon host in 1999. He then took on the cluster Operations Manager role in 2007. He takes on the Market Manager role that had been vacant since Cary Camp exited his role overseeing Shreveport and Tyler/Longview TX last year.

Over the past several years, Greg has expanded his expertise beyond programming, developing as a seller, strategist and leader. His experience and understanding of this market make him the right person to lead the team as we continue to grow and evolve.”
Cannell most recently served as Brand Manager and morning host at Audacy Classic Rock “Bayou 95.7” WKBU New Orleans from January 2024 until exiting in the company’s March 2025 layoffs. He previously worked at WKBU from 2008-11 with stints in middays and nights and Digital Media Manager and had an earlier stint in Shreveport programming Rock “99X” KTUX. He has also had roles programming “Fox 102.3” WMFX Columbia SC, Alternative “Modern Rock 98.7” WRMR Wilmington NC, and Classic Rock 96.5 WKLR Richmond VA before returning to New Orleans to program Cumulus Media’s Alternative “Alt 92.3” and Country “Nash-FM 106.1” WRKN from 2017 to 2020.
Hanson said, “Paul was a natural fit for this role. He knows radio, he knows this market, and he understands how all the pieces have to work together,” said Hanson. “As I move into the Market Manager role, I’m excited to have someone I trust leading programming and operations and helping us keep moving forward.”
Connoisseur operates Classic Hits “95.7 The River” KLKL, Classic Rock “98 Rocks” KTAL, Adult R&B “Hot 102 Jamz” KDKS, Hip Hop “103.7 The Beat” KBTT, and Gospel 920/93.3 KOKA in the market.
