FCC Actions
Chavez Media has been ordered to cease operation of 93.9 KRIT Parker AZ on January 21, 2027 if it has not completed its move to 92.7 by then so that Estrella Broadcasting’s 93.9 KZXO Bluewater may commence operation.
The FCC granted Chavez’ petition to move KRIT to 92.7 while upgrading from a Class C3 to B1 in July 2005 and was required to submit a minor change application within 90 days, yet did not do so until eight years later although that expired unbuilt in 2016 and then filed for a replacement CP in 2023, which just expired in June. KRIT has continued to operate on 93.9 via an implied STA, however KZXO was granted a CP in 2023 to operate with KRIT’s current facilities, but a special operating condition that it could not commence operation until KRIT began broadcasting on 92.7 with its CP now being tolled since 2024.
The FCC notes that since Chavez has not taken action to implement the KRIT channel change for over 20 years after requesting accepting the construction and licensing obligations arising from the finality of the Channel Change Order they find “that continued warehousing of this spectrum by Chavez in the face of Estrella’s longstanding competing demand is plainly contrary to the public interest.”
Vazquez Broadcasting Corporation’s Regional Mexican “La Explosiva” 1480 WSDS Ypsilanti MI was issued a Notice of Violation after FCC inspectors noted a lack of an EAS log, monitoring the wrong EAS sources, operating with 1104 Watts during the daytime as opposed to its authorized 808w, the chief operator telling the inspector that the station cannot operate with its nighttime parameters and instead continuing to operate with its daytime facilities, and a non-operational directional antenna monitor.

Mano a Mano Family Center has surrendered the license of 98.3 KMWV Dallas OR. KMWV operates on a time share with co-owned 98.3 KTUP Dallas, which will now operate full-time.
After being silent for the past year, Bicoastal Media’s 1230 KDAC Fort Bragg CA and 1400 KUKI Ukiah CA were cancelled.
Rothschild Broadcasting surrendered 1490 KOWL South Lake Tahoe CA.
