The Gary Hanna led Salt Air Broadcasting is expanding its holdings in Cape Cod MA with the purchase of CCB Media’s three stations.
Salt Air, which owns Classic Hits “Cape Cod’s X” 102.3 WGTX-FM Truro and 1240 WBAS/106.5 W293DW West Yarmouth, will acquire Hot AC “99.9 The Q” WQRC Barnstable, “Cape Country 104” 103.9 WKPE-FM South Yarmouth, and Soft AC “Ocean 104.7” WOCN-FM Orleans along with the CapeCod.com portal. Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.
Hanna said, “We still strongly believe in the power of local radio, particularly here on Cape Cod where a dedicated, year-round population relies on local stations every day. Our focus is entirely on serving this community—bringing back local voices, supporting local non-profits, and delivering exceptional programming.”
The company says it will also launch a new non-profit Classical brand on an HD subchannel to replace CCB’s former 107.5 WFCC, which was sold to K-Love Inc. earlier this year. CapeCod.com will be relaunched as well.

Salt Air seeks to take over the stations around November 30 pending FCC approval. It will retain CCB’s existing sales and back-office staff, but makes no mention of current on-air or programming staff.
