Rufus Resources Classic Country “No Bull Radio” is moving online as the company has turned in the licenses of all nine of its stations in South Texas. The move comes days after another organization, Hispanic Target Media surrendered ten of its stations.
Rufus turned in the licenses for: 92.1 KCAF-FM Kenedy, 95.3 KVWG-FM Dilley, 96.9 KWYU Christine, 100.1 KQBQ Myersville, 103.9 KBQQ Smiley, 104.3 KUFA Hebbronville, 105.9 KIBQ Austwell, 1280 KMFR/94.7 K234DG Pearsall, and 1490 KIBL/97.1 K246CP Beeville.
On the station’s Facebook page they have not acknowledged the surrender of the broadcast licenses but are promoting that they are now streaming on Live365. All references to broadcasting have been removed from their digital properties.
In a statement, No Bull Radio says, “The move closes the terrestrial broadcasting chapter for the Rufus Resources stations, but it does not mark the end of No Bull Radio. No Bull Radio will continue online, carrying forward its familiar Classic Country format and commitment to the music and programming its South Texas audience has come to know. Since its beginnings with KCAF 92.1 FM in Kenedy, No Bull Radio has grown from a single South Texas station into a regional radio network serving communities across the area. Through the years, the stations have provided country music along with news, weather, sports, agriculture, community information and public-service programming. The transition to online broadcasting gives No Bull Radio an opportunity to continue that tradition without the geographic limitations of an FM or AM signal. Listeners who once tuned in from communities across South Texas can now take the station with them wherever an internet connection is available.”
Earlier this week Hispanic Target Media turned in ten of the twenty four licenses it held with most operating as part of its Regional Mexican “Radio Amigo” network. The licenses surrendered were: 93.5 KGWT George West TX, 93.7 KXFS Rankin TX, 94.9 KHMZ Snyder TX, 95.1 KHMJ Troma CA, 99.3 KEHM Colorado City TX, 102.5 KXAM San Diego TX, 102.7 KQHM Zapata TX, 104.3 KPQG Goliad TX, 105.7 KOHM Ridgecrest CA, and 107.7 WAJP Perry FL.
Neither company stated any reasons for the license cancellations.
