Max Media Rock “Real Rock 99.3” KCGQ Gordonville/Cape Girardeau MO has relaunched as “99X” as part of a shift towards adding more current artists.

The relaunch come with what the station says is “a fresh approach to rock radio while maintaining the artists and attitude that have defined the station for generations of listeners.” Now positioning as “Modern Rock for Southeast Missouri”, the station says it will now “blend many of the core artists KCGQ listeners already know and love, including Foo Fighters, Shinedown, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Weezer, Three Doors Down and Three Days Grace, with a wider range of contemporary rock from artists including Papa Roach, Greta Van Fleet, Beartooth, Autumn Kings, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed and others shaping the sound of rock today”.
