Audacy flipped Hot AC “The New 96.5” WTDY-FM Philadelphia to Country “US 96.5” at noon today.
The new brand launched at noon today with Morgan Wallen & Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help” and Ella Langley’s “Choosin Texas” after the former brand signed off with Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).
Audacy Country Format Vice President Tim Roberts said, “Country music has a special way of connecting people, and we are excited to bring a brand-new destination to this important market. Adding US 96.5 in Philadelphia expands our footprint and brings even more world-class entertainment to our listeners – it’s a terrific addition to Audacy’s strong station lineup in the city.”
Becoming Audacy’s 24th Country station across the country, US 96.5’s lineup will feature Katie & Company in middays, Classic Hits “Big 98.1” WOGL morning host Coop pulling double-duty in afternoons, and Audacy’s national “Rob & Holly” at night and “Mo and StyckMan” overnight. The lineup will debut on Monday, October 26 with the station running commercial-free until Friday, October 24. A new morning show will be announced shortly.
The new brand creates a direct format competitor to Beasley Media Group’s 92.5 WXTU.
