Entravision’s recently launched Spanish Hot AC “Reyna 103.1” KDLD Santa Monica/KDLE Newport Beach CA has added its first set daypart with the launch of “La Tiendita Mornings with Melissa Rios”.

Rios, who most recently hosted afternoons on Mereulo Media Spanish AC “Cali 93.9” KLLI until its flip in July to Bilingual AC, will be heard in mornings from 6-10am. She began her career at SBS Los Angeles in promotions and later spent time on-air as ‘Popis’ at Regional Mexican “97.9 La Raza” KLAX and co-hosting mornings at Spanish CHR “Mega 96.3” KXOL from 2016-19. She was then part of Nick Cannon’s morning show at Hip Hop “Power 106” KPWR from 2019-21 before moving over to KLLI.

The station notes that Rios will broadcast her show on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the “ReynaLona Bronco” visiting different places in the community. She becomes the first regular personality on the station joining the five “Reynas” producing short-form content for the station and its app. KDLD/KDLE features 80% Spanish and 20% English content with “an organic mix of music, digital capsules, podcasts, and social extensions” built aroound on-air, digital streaming, and a mobile only web/app platform.
