Full Power Radio has expanded the coverage of its Oldies “Kool Radio” in southeastern Connecticut as the former Country “US 99.5” W258BI New London/WBMW-HD2 Pawcatuck has begun simulcasting 1180 WSKP/104.3 W282CB Hope Valley RI.
The move expands “Kool Radio” to cover New London and Norwich, while 1180/104.3 serve areas right at the Rhode Island state line. The brand is also heard in the Hartford area on 990 WNTY/96.1 W241CG Southington.
The Country format competed with Hall’s 97.7 WCTY Norwich, but registered a 0.0 share in the last two Nielsen surveys. The flip also helps fill the format hole created by Hall’s sale of Classic Hits “Big 100.9” WKNL New London to K-Love Inc. earlier this year.
