Z Country Comes To Harrisburg
Update 1/20: WMHX launched its new identity at 1:06 as “Z Country 106.7“.
The format puts the station in direct competition with Clear Channel’s market leading “Bob 94.9” WRBT while returning the station to a variation of its heritage branding. 106.7 was the primary Country station in Central Pennsylvania as “Z107” WRKZ until the late 90’s when it rebranded as “Cat Country” and then went through a few formats over the past decade including Adult CHR “Cool Pop“, Soft AC and Classic Hits as “Mix 106.7” and most recently 90s “Channel 106.7“. Listen to the launch of Z Country 106.7 at FormatChange.com.
From its tower location between the three, WMHX is one of the few stations that puts a city grade signal over Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York along with a serviceable signal into Reading. Most stations in the region cover one or two of the above markets but not all.
