Connoisseur Media AC “Magic 100.7” WVMG Bloomington/Normal, IL has shifted to CHR as “Hits 100.7” WWHX.
The flip places the station in direct competition with Townsquare Media’s 101.5 WBNQ which led the market with a staggering 16.2 share in the Fall 2011 ratings. WVMG’s AC format was tied for eight with a 3.9.
Despite the April 1 debut, this format should be sticking. The stations’ Facebook page announces, “It’s no April Fool’s joke! We are the new HITS 100.7, playing YOUR hit music NOW for Bloomington, Normal, and all of Central Illinois.” The move comes a few days after Floyd Evans was named Market Manager of the cluster.
Connoisseur also owns Rock “I-Rock 96.7” WIHN and Variety Hits “97.9 Bob-FM” WBBE in the Bloomington/Normal market.
