As first reported by Michael Heistand of USA Today, the network will debut in September with hourly sports updates and commentaries. The companies hope to launch the first two blocks of longform talk programming then as well with hosts to be named from 7pm to 10pm and 10pm to 1am eastern. They will then expand to 24/7 programming over the next 3 to 5 years.
Dial Global will sell the NBC Sports Radio Network in tandem with its NFL football package. The two companies launched NBC News Radio earlier this year.
