Clear Channel Sports “Xtra 910” KGME Phoenix has rebranded as “Fox Sports 910“.
KGME began using the “Xtra” moniker in 2000 when it moved from 550. At the time the “Xtra” brand, which came from the XETRA calls of 690 Tijuana/San Diego, was used by Clear Channel Sports stations in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Louisville along with Phoenix.
Along with the rebranding, KGME will launch a new midday show: The Freaks with Kenny & Crash, hosted by Kenny Sargent and Crash Gladys from 12pm to 2pm daily. The station features six hours of local programming daily with The Freaks joining incumbent afternoon show Bickley and MJ, who air from 2-6pm. The rest of “Fox Sports 910’s” programming comes from the national Fox Sports Radio lineup.
KGME was the second most listened to Sports station in the Phoenix market registering a 0.9 share in the April PPM monthly. It trails Bonneville’s “Arizona Sports 620” KTAR’s 2.6 share, but leads Sandusky’s “NBC Sports 1060” KDUS’s 0.1 share.
