The Kevin, Virginia, and Jason Show is moving down Florida’s coast in more ways than one.
The program, hosted by Kevin Rolston, Virginia Sinicki and Jason Pennington and producer Heather Nelson will depart Clear Channel’s “Wild 95.5” WLDI West Palm Beach on Friday after 14 years and join Cox Hot AC “97.3 The Coast” WFLC Miami beginning Monday, August 5.
The KVJ Show had been regionally syndicated within Florida including 92.7 WEOW Key West. WLDI will be replacing the program with the syndicated Elvis Duran beginning Monday, July 29.
The Press Release announcing the move to WFLC follows:
Cox Media Group (CMG) Miami is heating up mornings with the new The KVJ Morning Show. Beginning Aug. 5, Miami listeners will wake up to Kevin Rolston, Virginia Sinicki and Jason Pennington as they bring their top-rated morning show in West Palm Beach for over 10 years to The Coast.
“The KVJ Morning Show brings a new level of talent and content to 973 The Coast!,” said Acting VP/Market Manager, Ben Reed. “We are very excited to welcome Miami’s next great Morning Show!”
The new morning show is part of The Coast’s rebranding efforts as a Hot Adult Contemporary station targeting South Florida females. The KVJ Show began back in 1999 on WLDI in West Palm Beach with Kevin and Virginia. Jason joined the show in 2004. Kevin and Virginia have been teamed up for the past 14 years at WLDI/West Palm Beach with Jason Pennington having spent the past nine years on the team.
“I couldn’t be more excited to begin working with the KVJ Morning Show!,” said the Coast’s Program Director Tom Calococci. “These guys are the real deal, and after an amazingly successful run in West Palm Beach they will get the recognition and platform they truly deserve – moving from market 48 to market 11. But make no mistake – this is NOT a small market morning show! The chemistry, timing and pacing between KVJ is amazing and we are thrilled to have them become part of CMG Miami. Let the games begin!”
“We are so excited to bring our brand of fun and topical radio just south down I-95 to the incredible Miami market and the 97-3 The Coast audience”, added Rolston. “We have been entertaining listeners in South Florida for 15 years, so this is the natural evolution for The Kevin, Virginia & Jason Show. We look forward to working with Tom Calococci, Ben Reed and the team at 97-3 The Coast, and would like to thank Executive VP Kim Guthrie and VP of Programming Steve Smith for having the vision to make this all possible.”
