Newsday reports that “ESPN New York” 98.7 WEPN-FM New York will add a partial simulcast on 107.1 WLIR-FM Hampton Bays and 96.9 W245BA Manorville, NY next week.
The simulcast will be part of a new station billed as “Champions Radio“. The station will feature a mix of locally originating programming and content from WEPN-FM including all programming from 12pm to 12am weekdays and most of the weekends. The station will also feature Stony Brook University and local high school play-by-play.
It will also return ESPN programming to the Long Island frequency where it was previously heard from 2008 until its sale to Livingstone Broadcasting in 2011 when the station became the flagship for its Christian “Hope Radio” network.
No word on the other four translators that 107.1 currently feeds.
