Journal Broadcast Group has flipped 1070 KLIO Wichita from Scott Shannon’s True Oldies Channel to Spanish Sports “ESPN Deportes 1070“.
The station forms a sales pair with sister Regional Mexican “Radio Lobo 106.5” KYQQ in a market with a Hispanic population of 15.6 percent.

In order to better serve the community’s growing Latino population in Wichita, True Oldies 1070 has changed its programming to ESPN Deportes, the one and only Spanish radio sports network in the United States. The change means ESPN Deportes Radio on AM1070 is now the only around-the-clock Spanish-language radio network serving Hispanic sports fans in Kansas.
Since its launch in 2005, the radio network has grown to include 45 affiliates throughout the country reaching close to 80% of the Hispanic population in the U.S. ESPN Deportes Radio provides the most comprehensive offering of live sports available on all U.S. Spanish-language media. More than 300 LIVE sports events are scheduled including CONCACAF and CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers, Liga MX, Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, CONCACAF Champions League, MLB, MLS and NFL- Monday Night Football among others. The network also features sports news and information programming, including top-rated show Jorge Ramos y su Banda, Raza Deportiva, Futbol Picante, Zona ESPN, ESPN al Despertar and A los Golpes.
