Update 2/25: Tom Taylor Now reports on the two spinoffs required by the Adams purchases.
Oldies 102.9 WGL-FM Huntington will be swapped to Calvary Radio Network for translator 103.3 W277AK Fort Wayne.
90s Hits “Rewind 106.3” WHPP Columbia City will be swapped to Ft. Wayne Catholic Radio for 1450 WLYV Fort Wayne. (Taylor inadvertantly pegs it as 1570 WGLL Auburn)
Following the closings of all the sales, Adams Radio Group will own 93.3 WBTU, 96.3 WNHT, 103.3 W277AK, 103.9 WXKE, 107.9 WJHT, 1250 WGL, and 1450 WLYV in the Fort Wayne market.
Update 2/24 8:30pm: Adams will also be acquiring Russ Oasis’ stations in the Fort Wayne market. That deal will add an additional three FM’s: Country “US 93.3” WBTU, 90s Hits “Rewind 106.3” WHPP, and CHR “Hot 107.9” WJFX.
The deals will require the divestiture of at least one, if not two FM’s in the market as the combined Oasis and Summit City groups will give Adams one AM and six FM’s in the market.
Original Report 2/24 5:40pm: Adams Radio Group has acquired its second cluster as it purchases Summit City Radio’s Fort Wayne, IN stations for an undisclosed price.
Fort Wayne becomes the second market for the reconstituted Adams following its acquisition of stations in Las Cruces, NM last year. Adams previously operated in markets such as Phoenix, Denver, and San Diego from 1980 until selling in 1995.
Meanwhile is there about to be action at another cluster in the Fort Wayne market?
