With its Talk format back on FM following multiple changes last year, Blount Broadcasting has taken back control of its 850 WKVL Knoxville and returned the station to Classic Country.
WKVL dropped the format when it was leased to John Pirkle’s Oak Ridge FM in May 2013 to assume the Talk programming of 100.3 WNOX after that station was sold to Journal Communications. Later last year Oak Ridge FM regained operations of 94.3 WNFZ and flipped that station to Talk.
With Blount regaining operations of WKVL, its previous Classic Country programming has returned as a simulcast with sister 1410 WLOD Loudon.
